Caffeine myths that won’t go away
Caffeine is one of the most studied substances on earth, and yet the myths persist. Let us clear up a few of the most stubborn ones, because they change how people buy and brew their coffee.

Myth: dark roast has more caffeine
By weight the difference is tiny, and by scoop light roast can even edge ahead because the beans are denser. Roast level is a flavour decision, not a caffeine one.
Myth: espresso has the most caffeine
Per shot, espresso has less caffeine than a mug of filter coffee; it is just concentrated. A big batch-brew will out-caffeinate a single espresso easily.
